I finally got tired of quick meals, TV meals, eating out, etc. Soo, I finally decided that it was time I grew up and started learning how to cook.
I did a lot of research on slow cooker's and decided on the Hamilton Beach 33967. I let it set on the counter for a week before I decided to either send it back or, try it.

My first attempt was a pot roast with potatos, carrots and celery. Followed the recipie except added/subtracted sesonings that sounded good to me.

Much to my surprise, I had a VERY! tender roast with great veggies. Made enough to have a meal and freeze rest for several meals. (Wrong). I had it for supper, lunch and dinner the next day and lunch the third day.

Pot performed great and meat came out tender as butter.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

540 of 553 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Great crock pot!, January 31, 2009 This review is from: Hamilton Beach 33967 Set 'n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker (Kitchen) We love this product! The features on it are fantastic. We especially like the probe setting. You simply insert the probe into your meat and it will monitor the cooking process until the meat has reached the desired temperature. It then automatically switches to a low setting to keep your meal warm until you are ready to eat. There's no guessing how long it will take to cook. Throw in a few vegetables and have a home-cooked meal with very little fuss!
Another awesome feature is the clip-tight gasket lid. It's perfect for traveling to pot-luck dinners without worrying that you will ruin the upholstery in your car from a spill.

Our family highly recommends this product!

One note of caution. Watch the price when ordering online. Amazon currently has it selling for nearly $200, but it can be found in stores for a fraction of that price--usually $50-$60.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

357 of 368 people found the following review helpful: 4.0 out of 5 stars Hamilton Beech Crock Pot, November 23, 2008 This review is from: Hamilton Beach 33967 Set 'n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker (Kitchen) I love this crock pot. It has two outstanding features that the others don't--The snap on lid and the "keep warm" feature. In the past I have used crock pots that would cook with the setting of a manual dial. This new Hamilton Beech model cooks for as long as it is programmed and then it will keep the food warm until you are ready to eat. That's a great feature for those days when you're running late for dinner! Plus there's the great new lid that means you can take hot dishes anywhere without a spill or leak. It works the same today as it did new, and I use it about 10 times a week. For the money, it can't be beat. That said, this grinder is not for everybody.
This grinder is perfect for anybody with a coffee maker that uses #4 paper CONE filters (or slightly bigger or smaller). I emphasize PAPER because a permanent filter is not good for this grinder. Like any blade grinder, it will produce some dust. That creeps through the permafilter and into your pot is makes sludge. It sloppies up your coffee. Nothing gets through paper filters though.

It also grinds coffee fine. You really don't have a choice. It is ok for espresso as well if you are not a connoisseur. If you try a coarse grind with this unit, you will be out of luck. If you don't grind long enough, you will leave a few beans whole or in large pieces.

If you need anything other than a fine grind and don't mind using paper filters (I prefer them), then look no further.

I deducted a star because it has limitations, but the truth is, for probably 80% of the coffee drinkers out there, this grinder is all you need.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

193 of 193 people found the following review helpful: 4.0 out of 5 stars the standard, April 28, 2000 This review is from: Krups 203-42 Electric Coffee and Spice Grinder with Stainless-Steel blades, Black (Kitchen) This is an excellent grinder for home use and the one that I use on a daily basis. It is relatively quiet (so I can grind my beans in the morning without waking the kids) and large enough to process 8 or so cups (a full pot) of coffee. The only downside is that you have to practice the knack of when to stop grinding due to the lack of coarse control, but it makes up for it with ease of use. In my mind the quietness, ease of use and ease of cleaning (the black model is easier to clean than white) make this a must-have for coffee lovers. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

153 of 158 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars A fine grinder, December 4, 2001 This review is from: Krups 203-42 Electric Coffee and Spice Grinder with Stainless-Steel blades, Black (Kitchen) ...this guy is. It grinds coffee. What more is there to possibly say about it? It does what it's supposed to do, uniformly, and well. The end result is consistent, providing I count off a consistent time (the same could not be said for the previous beast that dwelled in my kitchen). It's a good grinder---I use it fairly heavily: grinding about a half-pound every six or eight days (what can I say? I'm a student. Caffeine is my lifeblood.). I have had my unit for over a year, and it has neither developed irritating quirks nor broken and needed replacing: the blades have also remained sharp.
The single word of advice that I would attach to this would be that you might wish a good, fairly long-handled and firm-bristled brush to clean it with: the shape of the lid and of the unit's base is such that grounds seem to adhere to the crevices. This is nothing that a washing of the lid can't address, but dunking the base in the sink has always seemed, well...inadvisable? It's a dependable machine: worth the money.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
2115|R2HPM0RFSW458F;2115|R2R8TLRVRUPXJV;2115|R27X9LM1LUDSHN;Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B00004SPEU;prid=1F5ZKRH59A0GD98S89X2;arid=5d239ad76be54ef1b65287fab711f20a;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=010130cc6497edbc3a2d8e99819163e9cc932308c478e3dd329ff8d7ddff24b27974',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen;sz=300x250;u=5d239ad76be54ef1b65287fab711f20a;ord=1F5ZKRH59A0GD98S89X2;s=i0;s=i1;s=i2;s=i3;s=i4;s=i5;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=a713;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#3: Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, Brushed Chrome

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

518 of 524 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Best yet!, August 2, 2006 This review is from: Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, Brushed Chrome (Kitchen) This is the third hand blender I have owned, and is by far the most solid, smoothest running and easiest to clean. The brushed chrome construction looks great and is also easier to clean than plastic versions. Handy features like detachable base, included mixing cup and extra long mixer are thoughtful and useful. The motor is smooth and powerful - it is the Audi V8 of the hand blender world. I purchased this immersion blender after my older no name brand unit purchased at Wally World died in the middle of blending a pot of hot soup. I like that you can wash the blenders blade assembly in the dishwasher and the stainless steel shaft is not stained like so many of the ALL PLASTIC models. Another thing I love is the power of the unit and the sharpness of the blades; they will reduce a pot of cream of broccoli soup to a smooth consistency in nothing flat.
Oh and when I say broccoli soup folks, I MEAN broccoli soup. I put nearly two bunches of steamed broccoli in my soup and I only chunk it prior to blending with the immersion blender. This blender will puree` the soup to a perfect creamy texture in nothing flat. (Reserve a few pieces of the chunked broccoli to add back to the soup for texture purposes) I have also used it on my potato and asparagus soups with equally great results.

If you are looking for an immersion blender with lots of power and a "NO STAIN" Stainless Steel shaft then IMO, you cannot go wrong with this model from Cusinart.

Happy Blending!

Ciao!
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

303 of 320 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Dangy-dang!, September 19, 2006 This review is from: Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, Brushed Chrome (Kitchen) Holy guacamole! I was a disbeliever, but now that I have this Cuisinart immersion blender, I am a True Believer. It is substantial yet quiet, and it works really, really well. It is easy to clean as the blender piece pops right off. I love that I can just place it into the pot and puree my soup right there! Awesome! Carrot soup, cauliflower soup, sweet potato soup have all fallen under my spell with this magic wand. Recommended. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
2115|R2H9HNM1155FML;2115|R30WU34EIPCFOH;2115|R36K49N4MSNVZZ;Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B000EGA6QI;prid=10WW6JZ832AG028PJQVE;arid=443fbfad52d1421b99ff65d0d03aab99;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=0101f6b47637dbfb81deb48b2abc43cacdcacb5518ccfb455279b0f14ea4b0465270',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen.small_appliances;sz=300x250;u=443fbfad52d1421b99ff65d0d03aab99;ord=10WW6JZ832AG028PJQVE;s=i0;s=i1;s=i3;s=i4;s=i5;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=i9;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=a714;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=1243;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#4: Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water Filters, Set of 2

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

141 of 156 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Freshwater Fluid Flows Freely From Fine Filter!, March 26, 2007 I live in Seoul, South Korea, where it is inadvisable to drink water directly from the tap. Unless, that is, your idea of a good time is to let a little amoebic dysentery cozy up and get friendly with your colon.
Okay, so, the water isn't ALWAYS that scary to drink. Just, uh, just most of the time.

Even when the water doesn't make you sick, it usually tastes like it's been funneled through an old radiator. Coffeemakers, generally speaking, don't include water filters because the brewing process ostensibly kills all of the harmful bacteria. But you can still taste the heavy-metal-goodness in every last drop of leaden java. Lip smacking!

Anyhoo, I purchased a Cuisinart Coffeemaker recently (oh, how I love that machine), and it came with a package of these little filter fellows, and let me tell you, they do the trick. Gone are the filamental-flavors, the taste of scalded electrical wire! All that's left is pure watery goodness, the clean, crisp clarity of two spic-n-span H's and one well-scrubbed O. Now, if this little wunder-filter can do THAT for the brackish dreck that passes for water in Seoul, imagine how much more effective it would be on YOUR water!

Uh. Assuming you also do not live in Seoul. Or, er, Mexico. And parts of Bangladesh. And most of Haiti. And also, maybe, Djibouti. (Although I think Djibouti's been getting its act together with the public water works system these days, thanks to macro-economic reform programs. See the comments section below.)

NOTE: Some elements of the above review may have been exagerrated in order to titillate easily-titillated readers. I really noticed an improved taste in my coffee. I think this is a great investment to help maintain the taste of the coffee and increase the lifespan of your coffee maker by reducing build-up from water minerals. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

71 of 78 people found the following review helpful: 3.0 out of 5 stars Not Necessary For Pure Water BUT Can Prevent a Clogged Valve, January 11, 2010 This review is from: Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water Filters, Set of 2 (Kitchen) Some time ago, I decided to stop using these expensive filters. I already have a Brita charcoal activated filter and use that filtered water directly into my Cuisinart. No problem and very good coffee. When I was using the small Cuisinart filters, I experienced a lot of problems with slow water feed resulting in steam and other problems. I decided, after spending some $16 on filters over a period of a year, that I was just wasting money on these filters. I cleaned the coffee maker after I stopped using the filters, am getting excellent coffee and no more slow water feed and a fine running coffee maker. The coffee tastes as good or better. But, please note that I am using filtered water - just not filtering it in the coffee maker.
This year, I found that the filter serves another purpose which is to prevent the occasional overflowed coffee ground from clogging the feed line and preventing all of the water to pass through the filter so you end up with less cups of coffee output compared to cups of water input. With pure water, the filter will last a long time. The root cause of the slow water feed in the paragraph above turned out to be a clogged valve in the feed line.
It is very important when using this coffee maker to have the right grind size. Excessive number of fines can lead to clogging. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B000TETMVK;prid=1HAQSSR7VGBTD1ZK5G86;arid=1c01e76c7c7d478fbb259cf67c36be30;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=01017328754cde04bbcefdc23a4725dbcfb07f79b6dc47a5fa233084b51fdadc47dd',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen;sz=300x250;u=1c01e76c7c7d478fbb259cf67c36be30;ord=1HAQSSR7VGBTD1ZK5G86;s=i0;s=i2;s=i3;s=i4;s=i5;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=i9;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=a713;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#5: Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

619 of 628 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars 4.6 Stars: Great kettle with one caveat, January 23, 2009 This review is from: Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle (Kitchen) [Originally review January 2009 (3 stars), Updated July 2010]
We bought one of these for our home and liked it so much I got another for my office. It is a quick safe way to boil water. It works much better than our teapot on our conventional stove and you can leave the room without worry about all the water boiling out and a possible fire.
It is so efficient that we often use it to heat up water before putting it in a pan on the stove. It is much faster. When we are making pasta we will put a small amount of water in a large pan and fill the teapot. The water in the pot is boiling before the water on the stove. The pot is light, even when full, and has no aftertaste like I have read some of the plastic ones do.
HOWEVER, we had owned our home pot for less than six months when the 'on' switch broke off. The pot was still usable, but you have to reach in and activate it with a fingernail. It was under limited warranty, but that involved mailing it to San Diego at our own cost and sending them a check for $8 to have it returned. Including the time and materials to package it up and then drive to the post office and have it gone for 2-4 weeks wasn't worth the effort.
I have concluded we just got a lemon. Because this happened and the warranty policy was so cumbersome, I originally gave this 3 stars. But our other one is working fine and the broken piece has turned out to be a small inconvenience, so I have revised my rating to 4.6, rounding up to 5. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

408 of 416 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars looks good AND works like a charm! (updated Feb. 2011), January 1, 2008 This review is from: Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle (Kitchen) It's not often that one finds a product that's both visually attractive AND functionally satisfying. This kettle is one of those rare items: the shiny stainless steel body is beautiful to look at, and it boils water very very quickly! It features a nice big and sturdy handle which is very comfortable, and the spout is perfectly designed so that you'd have to be a real klutz to spill things. The cordless feature is wonderful, I tried a cheap ten dollar "Hot Pot" for a day or two and hated having to deal with the cord, plus that model doesn't have automatic shutoff despite what it says on the box---huge fire hazard! There is also a power-indicator light and water-level indicator gauge which are both handy, and I like that there is no exposed heating element inside which would be a pain to clean. Instead it's all smooth clean lines, inside and out!
Sure the outside of the kettle does get a little hot so you probably don't want to have this within reach of toddlers or anything, but if your toddlers can get up on your kitchen countertop then you have a LOT of other problems as well! I appreciated not having to deal with how plastic inevitably gets dirty-looking and sometimes leaves a funny taste in the water.

My only slight concern is that the lid needs a little bit of force to shut completely...probably some kind of insulating seal that shortens the time needed to bring water to a boil, but makes me wonder how durable that part of this kettle is going to be. Oh well, will find out in a few months or (hopefully) years, I suppose!

*UPDATED 2/14/2011: Still going strong, no complaints at all. I use it at least twice a day, most days. The lid has held up well. Highly recommend!
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

196 of 203 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!, October 1, 2007 This review is from: Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle (Kitchen) I bought this after I was so disappointed with a Breville one. The pot does get hot but I don't have any children or pets to worry about. The boil time is very fast and there is no coil on the inside so I do not have to worry about the build-up or rust I have experienced with other kettles. The water tastes good and clean. For this price it is very affordable! I do have to admit that the pot seems a little cheaply made, but I didn't expect much since it seems to be less than half the price of others of the same volume and style. I am very happy with this!!
Update (more than a month later): this is still working so quick and perfectly! I couldn't be happier!
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B000KDVTJI;prid=1A9BY9PY60WJ12NWQJ0A;arid=d61ded48655e4983bb0982d63554c937;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=0101580127ffd64769132d224b97f54885658851f380762a241d89bf60df06a322fe',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen.coffee_tea;sz=300x250;u=d61ded48655e4983bb0982d63554c937;ord=1A9BY9PY60WJ12NWQJ0A;s=i0;s=i1;s=i2;s=i3;s=i5;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=i9;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=a713;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=1237;z=1243;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#7: Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer, Brushed Aluminum

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

965 of 967 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome once you know the tricks, January 3, 2005 This review is from: Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer, Brushed Aluminum (Kitchen) Works great, especially with olive oil, but there are a couple of tricks to getting the most out of it. First, fill it only half way. Second, if you twist the top after each use to release the pressure you can avoid clogging problems. My first one lasted only a year or so because I had not learned that 'releasing the pressure' trick and the nozzle got irreparably clogged. Even hot soapy water didn't fix the problem. A chef friend of mine told me how to avoid the trouble. Since then, the replacement has been going strong for over two years now. Nice even spray with no clogging. Great gadget. I use it all the time! Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

228 of 229 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Very handy gadget, June 22, 2000 This review is from: Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer, Brushed Aluminum (Kitchen) We grill a lot of vegetables in my household (both on the grill, and in the oven in the wintertime), and this is a great device. Gives a light, uniform coating of oil to the veggies. Other things I use it for include oiling pans, my grill, and for misting the top of an italian pie or calzone with olive oil before baking for a nice golden color. Also, if you coat chicken in a bread crumb mixture, spray it with oil, and then bake it, it comes out crispy on the outside...a healthy alternative if you miss the taste of fried chicken.
We have one, and are ordering a second, so that we can have one for olive oil and another for a lighter vegetable oil.
About the only complaint I have is that if you pump it up too much, the oil mists too well! You'll get a light coating of oil on whatever you're spraying, but there will also be this cloud of tiny oil droplets hanging in the air. What I've learned from experience is just not to pump it up too much.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

150 of 153 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Misto Oil Sprayer, December 16, 2004 This review is from: Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer, Brushed Aluminum (Kitchen) I had my spayer for several years and enjoyed it immensly until the cap split. In reseaching I found this to be a commom problem for many useers. Further research showed Misto had changed the material in the cap due to this issue. Since mine had been bought at the Lechter close out sale i figured it was one of the older models. Not really expecting anything, I researched and found the Misto service address back east and sent them a letter asking how to get a replacement cap. Expecting to be told it was going to cost $12 or more to get one (S & H) I was pleasantly surprised when many weeks later I received a replacement cap in the mail. No letter, note or anthing. Some Customer Service Dept. person just dropped one in a packing envelope and mailed it to me. So Misto is #1 in service for me and my Misto sprayer is happily spraying away again.
It does spayer best if you don't release the pressure between uses and just give it one or two pumps when you use it. It helped me to get a better spay when I re-read the directions. I never run out of pan spay with my Misto.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
2115|R2WKGC7OIHGM9W;2115|R3Q4TFOTNS3STI;2115|R36XV19UGTRHFB;Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B00004SPZV;prid=012ZQ1NK9YFEVK1E2W6W;arid=60b63dce3df64552ac7659f1545d1510;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=010135258aafefa951b7c6fba55b10c4cf8c5bb47615b89cdd7a68c5e46cc006462a',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen.gadgets;sz=300x250;u=60b63dce3df64552ac7659f1545d1510;ord=012ZQ1NK9YFEVK1E2W6W;s=i0;s=i1;s=i2;s=i3;s=i4;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=i9;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=a714;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=1240;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#2: EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, Silver

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

1,383 of 1,387 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Deal, January 6, 2009 I would prefer to write this review after some time has passed, but I want to make sure I get my thoughts out here early on.
This is my third kitchen scale. I bake all my own bread at home and good baking requires weighing the ingredients rather than volume measuring.

This scale feels very light which made me nervous at first, but I've used it for three weeks now, through a lot of baking over the holidays, and my concerns seem out of line.

This scale fits all my needs. Here is what I look for:

1. CAPACITY - AT LEAST 10 LB (this has 11 lb, or 5 kg). This is required to be able to tare out a glass bowl which can weigh near 5 lbs empty. 11 lb is still borderline when I'm making bread in a 6 qt kitchenaid bowl, but I just weigh ingredients separately in another bowl if it becomes a problem.

2. PRECISION - DOWN TO 1 GRAM - Another scale I have was only good to 5 grams and, although this was probably good enough, it drove me nuts not to be able to go down to 1 gram

3. STABLE PLATFORM FOR VESSELS -- My previous scale had a platform that sat on top of a pillar and eventually came detached. After that it was a balancing act to weight anything

4. ORDINARY BATTERIES -- I liked my old scales fine, but it drove me crazy that I had to keep buying overpriced CR2032 batteries for the things. These batteries don't last long and cost too much to replace. I can't figure out why they use these "button batteries" rather than the more common higher capacity AAA, AA, C, D, etc cells. It's not like these scales are micro-sized. In any event A BIG BIG PLUS for this scale is that it uses standard batteries! Don't sell this point short.

5. PRICE -- $50, $30, $70 for a scale to do this is crazy. the circuitry in these things is cheap. It's not rocket science. All these scales that have "features" are a waste of money. This scale does what needs to be done for $20.

6. FEATURES -- Zero the scale, read negative numbers, switch between metric and English weights, tare a bowl....that's it...that's all you need. All the rest of it is a waste of money and a further chance for failure. this does what is needed and no more.

7. EASY TO READ -- big numbers. this scale is good....Not so good about this scale (and the ONLY problem I have so far) is that big bowls tend to cover the read out a little and make it hard to pick up the weight. So far it hasn't been a big deal, but it can be a slight annoyance.

BOTTOM LINE:

This scale gets 100% on items 1-6 and about 50% on item 7 for a 93% grade overall...enough for me to give it 5 out of 5 stars.

The only remaining unrated item is DURABILITY....I'll report back in a year. My old, $50 scale only lasted 3.5 years. I'm betting this one goes at least that long...plus I won't be forking over for new button batteries every month and a half.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

1,541 of 1,550 people found the following review helpful: 2.0 out of 5 stars Great customer service!, May 19, 2009 ** This review has been edited ** I now give the product 5 stars (stupidly, Amazon doesn't allow changing the rating when editing).
Originally I wrote a bad review indicating the unit eats batteries. We didn't use it frequently and every time we did, the batteries were dead.

About a day after I submitted the review, Bill from EatSmart Products emailed me indicating he had seen the review and short battery life is not typical of the product (he stated they should last ~1 year). With no prompting from me, he sent out a new scale along with some batteries to replace the ones the original scale consumed. Although it hasn't been very long, so far the batteries in the new unit are holding up well.

So as I stated above, I now give this scale a 5-star rating due not only to its good performance, but the great customer service from the manufacturer!
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

434 of 442 people found the following review helpful: 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Scale - Simple and Functional, April 23, 2009 Item Reviewed: EatSmart Precision Pro - Multifunction Digital Kitchen Scale w/ Extra Large LCD and 11 Lb. Capacity.
EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, White

I am no scale expert, but EatSmart has offered me a free book if I write a review of their scale, and this has prompted my review. I have only been using the scale for two weeks, but I haven't had any problems with it so far. My only nitpicks at this point are that the "white" color has a pinkish tone and that the buttons aren't perfectly even. Aside from these minor cosmetic issues, the scale is exactly what I expected: a functional, easy-to-use, accurate, inexpensive ($25), small, lightweight, plastic scale.

When making my scale purchase, I also considered buying the Escali Primo Digital Multifunctional Scale, Chrome. The only advantage that the Escali Scale has over the EatSmart Precision Pro Scale is that the Escali Scale has buttons that prevent food from getting into the cracks. In contrast, when using the EatSmart Scale, you have to be careful not to drop food in between the two buttons. For this reason, I put my scale in a plastic Ziploc bag (gallon size) to protect it from drippings and droppings - this keeps it clean, and it still works great! In all other respects (except for the few noted below), the two scales seem to be very similar according to the product descriptions.

In the end I decided to purchase the EatSmart Scale over the Escali Scale because I preferred the EatSmart unit options. The EatSmart Scale allows you to switch back and fourth between four different unit modes: 0000 grams, 000.00 ounces, 00.000 pounds, and 00.000 kilograms (resolution: .05 ounces/1 gram). This requires pushing the right button once for each mode (for example, start on grams, then push once to get to ounces, then again to get to pounds, then a third time for kilograms). The EatSmart scale will remember the last unit-mode you chose, so you don't have to readjust every time. If you always use pounds, just leave it on pounds. When you return the next day and turn on your scale, it will still be on pounds.

In contrast, The Escali Scale only offers three unit options: 0000 grams, 000.00 ounces, and [00 lbs + 00.0 ounces]. I prefer the EatSmart Scale because it provides pounds with decimals (00.000 lbs) - for me this is easier to deal with than [00 lbs + 00.0 ounces]. I frequently measure out meats, which are labeled in pounds with decimals (00.000 lbs) at most grocery stores. If I buy a pound of hamburger and want to divide it into three 1/3-pound portions (0.33 lbs), the EatSmart Scale makes it easy. I just measure out the 0.33 lb portions right there on the scale. With the Escali Scale, I would have to do some conversions to measure out my portions, because the Escali Scale will not measure out pounds in decimals. In some cases these conversions can be difficult without a calculator. The conversion required in this example would be:

(0.33 lbs/portion) * (16 ounces/lb) = 5.333 ounces/portion ---> Possible to do without a calculator, but not ideal.

Another EatSmart feature that I have found convenient is that you do not have to use the tare button. Simply place your empty bowl or plate on the scale BEFORE turning it on, then push the left button once to turn it on. It turns on very quickly and is zeroed-out upon starting up. Then you can add your ingredients to the plate without having to wait for the scale to tare! If you would rather use the tare button, that is easy as well. Simply push the left button to turn on the scale, then place your empty plate on the scale, push the left button a second time to "tare" the scale, wait for the scale to zero out, and then add your food items that you want to measure.

With its three-minute automatic shut-off feature, the scale gives you plenty of time to make your measurement before turning off. I haven't had it shut off on me yet in the middle of a measurement. It also allows you to shut it off manually by pushing the button on the left twice (you have to wait for it to zero out to 00.000 before pushing it the second time - if it is at 00.003 when you go to push it the second time, it will just tare again to 00.000). The scale also seems to give its readings rather quickly - so no problems there.

IN SUMMARY: The EatSmart Scale has three battery-conscious features: generous three-minute automatic shut-off, option to turn off manually, and ability to tare without actually spending time taring! It also uses standard AAA batteries which are easily replaceable. It offers four convenient unit modes: 0000 grams, 000.00 ounces, 00.000 pounds, and 00.000 kilograms. Overall a simple and functional scale without any bugs. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase - I would buy it again!
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
2115|R2D8HW8UZIGL9L;2115|R4JR2ELZR8PY9;2115|R2O9XG1R6N3Q21;Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B001N07KUE;prid=1867XHMSBCQM7HTMKCQG;arid=8137472863f6478890498524d14cbb6f;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=0101c62ba5dcd38631804f36094d6c90240b73d240ba9c4335465c12a479c0315cfd',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen.gadgets;sz=300x250;u=8137472863f6478890498524d14cbb6f;ord=1867XHMSBCQM7HTMKCQG;s=i0;s=i1;s=i2;s=i3;s=i5;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=i9;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=1240;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#9: Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

762 of 764 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars The "Lexus" of juicers, June 9, 2008 This review is from: Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor (Kitchen) We owned a refurbished Waring JEX328 juicer for about two years and my wife used it to make juice for our children and me almost every day. It held up fairly well and we paid almost nothing for it at the time (around 30 bucks, I think), but it finally cratered a couple of weeks ago. We debated for a while whether or not to replace it with this Breville model or the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro. We finally decided on this one because it had so many five star ratings and because it is an appliance we use so often, thus we thought it made sense to get the best one we could find, even with its steeper price. While I can't compare it to the Hamilton Beach model, I can compare it to the Waring model, and it beats the Waring model hands down.
As soon as you unpack the Breville you know you have a top quality piece of equipment. It does an outstanding job at juice extraction (the pulp is dryer than what the Waring produced, and the Waring actually did pretty well) and the clean-up is far easier. When cleaning the Waring, you had pulp caked up within the machine itself and it was a pain to clean it out, partially becaused it had a higher moisture content but also simply because of all of the nooks and crannies in this catchment section of the juicer. Although this section detached, it was still difficult to clean nonetheless . The Breville puts the pulp in a separate container off to the side, and as others have mentioned, if you line it with a plastic bag there is nothing to it. The only "pain" is cleaing the filter device, which is going to be difficult with any juicer you buy. The brush they provide does make this a little easier, however.

Now for the biggest difference: the noise produced when the machine is turned on. With the Waring, you had to pause the television, stop talking, cover your ears, and hope the neighbors didn't phone the cops on you for disturbing the peace. The Breville is FAR quieter. Don't get me wrong, it is not "whisper quiet" or anything like that, but it probably makes one third of the noise the Waring did.

Is it worth the higher price as compared to the Waring or Hamilton Beach? Hard to say. Like I mentioned, we got the Waring for practically nothing and it was a good introductory machine for us for juicing, but SO LOUD!

I can't really find any flaws with the Breville at all (we have run it for about a week now). Considering, however, that it costs almost three times what you can get the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro for (I would chose this one over the Waring purely from my experience with it and from reading the reviews for the Hamilton), whether or not you want to go with this "ultra juicer" version boils down to sheer personal preference. How often you will run it and what variety of recipies you might want to put through it should probably be your driving factors, along side the price difference, of course. The main differences I found with the Breville as compared to the Hamilton were a slightly higher wattage (900 versus 800) and the variable speeds instead of only one, single speed. From our perspective, though, we have had no regrets in spending the extra cash for this top model.

EDIT 08/05/08: Just thought I would mention that since this review we bought the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro as a gift for my wife's mother, so we had a chance to directly compare it to the Breville. It did a good job, but it was louder and not nearly as solidly built as the Breville. After this comparision, we are even more satisfied with our decision to spend a bit extra and get this model. The varible speed on the Breville is something you will definitely miss should you go back to a model that does not have this feature. Hope this helps!
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

315 of 317 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Why I prefer this juicer to Green Star, Champion, and others:, November 29, 2008 This review is from: Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor (Kitchen) The Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor is the third juicer I've owned, and is definitely my favorite. My cheap and easy-to-use Juiceman's motor burnt out after a year, at which point it would have been more expensive to repair than replace. My Champion still works after 15 years and is not difficult to clean, but is messy to use, leaving drips all over the countertop or whatever I line it with. I've also tried the Green Star and Green Power Juicers, which make perfect juice with dry pulp, but take a long time to clean and assemble. The Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900 is the second-down from the top of the line of the four Breville juicers (only the Elite is better), but after a month of use of about every-other-day use, I find no need to upgrade.
Here's why I like this juicer so much for my typical juice of carrot, kale, celery and apple and/or pear:

*Easy to set-up: It takes only seconds to set up this juicer. The juicer itself has only 3 pieces to snap into place, plus there's the acrylic pitcher, pulp basket, and pusher. The pieces fit perfectly like a jigsaw puzzle, which brings me to the second reason I like it:

*Not messy: The juice ends up in the pitcher, the pulp goes to the pulp basket, plus some residual of each ends up in the juicer to be cleaned. My Champion Juicer OTOH required me to find containers around the house that would fit, and still some would drip out. I would have to place a baking sheet or towel under it to contain the mess.

*Quick vegetable and fruit prep: I can fit several carrots at once into the 3" diameter shoot, plus whole pears and/or apples. I don't have to do as much cutting ahead of time as I did with other juicers with a narrower shoot. You must be careful though to use the pusher and not your hand.

*Quick clean up: Those 6 pieces mentioned above are all I have to clean. I can clean my juicer in just a few minutes, once I figured out a good way to clean the filtration basket--by far the most challenging part to clean. This basket was frustrating to clean at first, particularly since my juicer did not come with the brush it was supposed to (and customer service did not respond to my request to obtain a brush). I tried various brushes, but what works best is an all purpose nylon scouring pad from Trader Joe's which comes in packages of 4 for $2.59. The secret to quick clean up is to begin cleaning as soon as you've finished juicing, although you do have a few minutes to drink your juice first. Rinse off the filtration basket and vigorously scrub half of each of the three sections at a time with the nylon scrubber, rinsing each half section before moving on to the next. This should remove 90 to 90% of the pulp debris. Repeat or spot clean to remove the rest. I can clean the whole basket in less than a minute. The other parts are quick and straightforward to clean, although you have to be careful to clean under the rim of the acrylic part that the basket sits in.

*Helpful design features: The juicer has a smaller footprint than the Champion and Greenstar Juicers; a sleek, modern look that looks good in kitchens; pieces that fit together well (as mentioned), and even the plug is in the shape of a ring so one can easily pull it out of the socket without yanking on the cord.

*Doesn't stain. Although it has some acrylic parts, so far, with immediate cleaning after use, there have been no stains.

A few compromises. No juicer is perfect. This juicer is average in several areas. You can have a juicer that is above average in these areas (Green Star and Green Power), but you will be spending a lot more time in assembly, disassembly and cleaning. Having used the Green Star and Green Power, I would rather have the quick and easy juicer and sacrifice a small amount of yield.

*Noise - This juicer is as loud as your average kitchen appliance like a food processor or blender. The Green Star or Green Power are whisper quiet. It is not as loud as my Blendtec blender which requires me to wear ear phones.

*Yield - The pulp in this Breville is neither very wet nor very dry--it's average. For sawdust-dry pulp and more yield, the Green Star, Green Power and the $2,000 difficult-to-clean Norwalk exceed the Breville.

*Versatility - The Breville is strictly a juicer. If you're a raw foodist who is interested in making frozen banana "ice cream" and "not tuna" pate', you might prefer the Champion, Green Star or Green Power. However, I have found you can make these items in the food processor, so I'd rather have the dedicated easy juicer. Banana "ice cream" takes about 5 minutes in the food processor, as opposed to about 30 seconds in the Champion juicer.

The bottom line is that the right juicer for you is the one that can get used. With quick and easy food prep, assembly, disassembly, and cleaning, at my house, this IS the juicer that gets used.

Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

169 of 171 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars A great appliance for what it is... a centrifugal juicer!!!, June 26, 2009 This review is from: Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor (Kitchen) First of all, a distinction needs to be made on exactly what type of juicer the Breville is, only then will these reviews be helpful. The Breville belongs to a class of juicers called centrifugal juicers. These work by forcing the juicing item onto centrally located spinning blades that essentially finely grates it and then the contents are thrown outward onto a spinning screen (spinning at a thousand or more revolutions per minute)... this forces the juice through the screen while the pulp gets held back and eventually slides up the angled screen and gets thrown over the top and into a holding bin... and thus the juice is separated from the pulp. The other types of juicers are the masticating juicer, where the item is literally crushed in an auger (a big screw) and compressed so that the juice flows through a small screen in the bottom while the pulp is pushed forward where it gets ejected at the far end... and the other type is the citrus juicer which is basically an electrically powered reamer used to semi-manually ream-out citrus fruits quickly. And finally there is the common kitchen blender.
Each type of juicer has it advantages and disadvantages... to be able to juice ALL types of vegetables and fruits well and efficiently you will actually need all four types of juicers. In reverse order...
Kitchen Blender: for very soft or delicate and highly pulpy fruits (raspberries, bananas, blueberries)
Citrus Juicer: for the ultimate in convenience, speed, ease and an excellent amount of juice extraction for all citrus fruits
Masticating Juicer: virtually the only type of juicer for leafy greens (however it will also perform well with any items that are not too soft and pulpy, as the small screen plugs up too easily), however be warned, the juice extraction process is going to be very, VERY SLOW!
Centrifugal Juicer: very, VERY fast extraction rate and the large screen makes the juicing of pulpy fruit easy and fast. However extremely pulpy (ie bananas) and very soft fruits would do much better by foregoing the juice/pulp separation process and simply tossing them into a blender.

Now about the Breville specifically: For me its about the best centrifugal juicer out there. Motor is very powerful and the variable speed feature makes it more useful over a wider range of fruits/veggies, however really soft fruits such as raspberries, strawberries etc. and some small fruits like blueberries do not do well in this juicer at any speed as even the slowest speed is so violent that they too quickly slide over the top of the screen before much juice can be extracted from them. Expect then for the pulp of many soft fruits and vegetables (such as tomatoes) to still contain some juice after processing. I would actually suggest using a blender for the berries and then adding it to the extracted juices separately... its both more economical and healthier for you that way. Leafy greens (including wheatgrass) are another problem item for any centrifugal juicer... they will not juice properly so don't even bother trying... leafy greens is what the masticating juicers truly excel at. Finally, though citrus fruits will juice in the Breville, you will soon get tired of peeling them as you canNOT juice them with the peel still on because the citrus oils extracted from the peels don't taste very good at all. Once you've purchased a good citrus juicer you'll understand why this really is the only way to juice any citrus fruits. The Breville is great for whole kiwi, apples, carrots, celery, broccoli stalks, asparagus, radishes, beets, kohlrabi, cabbage heads (outer leaves removed and head sliced to under 3"), cucumbers, squash, grapes, mangoes, peaches, and plums (with pits/seed removed of course), pears, all melons, papaya, etc... even tomatoes and strawberries (though don't expect the pulp to be very dry)... and there is no need to peel many of these items before processing (just the melons), you just drop them in the large 3" chute. The juicing process is really fast and the clean-up is a snap... you just rinse out 3 parts and brush the screen. The fit/finish, materials used and quality in general are all excellent and the design intelligent.

The downsides of the Breville are: even at the slowest speed it is still quite fast and soft fruits/vegetables can literally be thrown back out through that large 3" diameter feed chute if you are not fast enough to cover with the plunger or your hand... yes, it can get real messy, like as in throwing bits of food/juice up and out onto kitchen walls, etc. so there is a bit of a learning curve when juicing the soft items. We've owned this Breville for the last 3 months and have used it everyday... the blades have dulled a little since it was new, which is to be expected but still all-in-all remain plenty sharp enough to get the job done... and the lower clear plastic bowl has slightly discolored from all the carrots but again it is to be expected and is only very, very slight.

Bottomline here... we have been very please with this Breville and can highly recommend it for juicing most fruits and vegetables with the notable exceptions being leafy greens (get a masticating juicer just for juicing those items) and citrus fruit (a citrus juicer would be far more convenient) and finally don't be expecting soft items to be 100% fully extracted.
Find more at juices4life.com
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B000QBFFU8;prid=0THYH1E4VZ0K10QKD5HT;arid=7ace66d5b252449ca2297e5dbe56f80f;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=0101e6899521fd30965409607fdb33e3518fbd29c361a3465da1afeba395395e10e8',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen.small_appliances;sz=300x250;u=7ace66d5b252449ca2297e5dbe56f80f;ord=0THYH1E4VZ0K10QKD5HT;s=i0;s=i1;s=i2;s=i3;s=i4;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=i9;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=a713;s=a760;s=a761;s=a771;s=a768;s=a765;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=1243;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#10: Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 13-Piece Cookware Set

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

38 of 41 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Impressed chef, July 4, 2007 This review is from: Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 13-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen) I've been cooking quite a bit with this set and do recommend them to the casual cook and/or the professional.
The major thing I've noticed is the amazing heat distribution of these pans. I cooked at friends house a couple weeks ago on a crappy electric range and the tuna steak we were cooking turned out perfect like I was cooking at home on my gas range.

Also a notable achievement is the easy clean up of these pans. The smooth design seemed cosmetic at first but I've been grateful for the rounded interior edges, they've saved me hours of clean up.

Great investment! Lifetime warranty is no joke either. Worth the price.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

28 of 30 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this cookware, February 16, 2011 This review is from: Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 13-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen) Calphalon Contemporary is as good as All Clad or any other cookware line on the market, and better than most.
Great heat distribution and extremely high efficiency. You actually have to learn to cook with less power than what you're used to.
Can be used with any cooktop, electric coil, flat electric, gas and induction. (These are downright amazing with induction!)
Doesn't scratch or lose its surface like any non-stick will do
Can use metal or nylon utensils
Non-stick results if used according to directions.
Easy to clean if you use Barkeeper's Friend.
Will be the last cookware you'll have to buy.

I also got the wok, and am thinking about getting another. With two of these woks, I could cook anything and rule the world.
Unfortunately, Amazon is currently out of the woks, so I have to wait for them to restock.

Unfortunately right now Amazon is not the price leader. They often have a $30-$50 discount from the retail $499, but as I write the review the price is back up to list.
Other sources also offer additional free pieces, gift cards, etc. You'll have to weigh that against Amazon's no sales tax.
If you shop hard, you can usually find a 20% coupon elsewhere, plus extra items. I hope Amazon sharpens their pencils soon.

Also, a lot of the Amazon listings under Calphalon Contemporary are for external vendors, so if you see above-list prices, keep on scrolling down to find the Amazon entry.
By the way, even if you don't get these from Amazon, avoid Macy's, who lists this set at $549 plus tax.

Notes after ten months of use (December 28, 2011):

If you can't tell, I really like this stuff, so I got the 8 quart dutch oven for Christmas 2011. I cooked a beef roast and roasted vegetables for Christmas dinner with excellent results.
So in addition to all the cook tops that it works with, add "oven".

You can cook eggs without sticking. Make sure you use PAM or butter and remember that these pans need lower heat than you're used to with aluminum or whatever you've been using.

To remove stains and anything you've managed to "bake on", use stainless steel scrub buds (not steel wool, which scratches!) and Barkeeper's Friend. Most heat discoloration can also be removed with distilled vinegar and a scrub sponge.

Amazon's price is still at list, but they have listings from Amazon store front vendors fulfilled by Amazon at significant discounts, so you can get a good price, no tax, and Super Saver and Prime shipping are applicable.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

17 of 19 people found the following review helpful: 2.0 out of 5 stars A Little Disappointed in the Quality, October 20, 2011 This review is from: Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 13-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen) We just bought and opened this cookware. It had received several positive ratings so we were pretty excited about it. Unfortunately, the lids have some manufacturing quality control problems. The lids are glass with a stainless steel border that goes all of the way around the edge of the lid. On three of the lids, the seams (where the edges of the border connect to each other)are messed up -- not aligned, not quite finished or smooth, and in one case, the seam edge is rough -- to where it could possible catch on a sponge or finger. Amazon is great -- offered to replace or discount the set, and that's why we love Amazon. But, they couldn't just replace the couple of bad lids. Pack it all up and haul 28 pounds of cookware to UPS or settle with a discount? We're still trying to decide but are really disappointed in Calphalon's quality here. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
Share your thoughts with other customers: (function(w,d,e,o){var i='DAcrt';if(w.uDA=w.ues&&w.uet&&w.uex){ues('wb',i,1);uet('bb',i)}var L=function(){o=w.DA;if(!o){o=w.DA=[];e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/DA-us/DA-us-1600463417.js._V139696927_.js';d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(e)}o.push({c:855,a:'site=amazon.us;pt=Detail;slot=customer-reviews-top;pid=B000IZQ9SE;prid=08ZPBRNXJTE2JAER0235;arid=ae65c173cc274ec58ee3940d6fd8a213;ef=0.00',f:'/aan/2009-09-09/ad/feedback.us/default?pt=RemoteContent&slot=main&pt2=us-external',n:1,r:1,p:'turn:pid=40&evt=99|opt:0|cornerstone:a1=&a2=0101e1145947d5cb56f50e18926696bbeaa83241c4d113fbb401f728876ee79e3ab0',t:'//d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.6.html',u:'amzn.us.dp.home/kitchen.cookware;sz=300x250;u=ae65c173cc274ec58ee3940d6fd8a213;ord=08ZPBRNXJTE2JAER0235;s=i0;s=i1;s=i2;s=i3;s=i4;s=i6;s=i7;s=i8;s=i9;s=32;s=1009;s=m1;s=m4;s=a713;s=a762;s=a760;s=a766;s=a767;s=a779;s=u3;s=u4;s=u1;s=u2;z=1238;z=267;z=261;tile=1'})};if(d.readyState=='complete')L();else w.addEventListener('load',L,!1)})(window,document) Most Recent Customer Reviews

View the original article here

Peliculas Online

#1: Sundesa BB28-SC08 28-Ounce BlenderBottle with BlenderBall, Black

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

168 of 170 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Seriously works, incredible value., September 15, 2007 Well for one thing, this product works. Very, very well. I've used many different shakers for making protein shakes or whatever else and this one is far and away the best.
It seals really well, nothing leaks out and nothing is a mess. It's easy to clean. And best of all it really really blends whatever is inside.

I put 4 big scoops of powder into this guy and some water and such and then even crushed ice, and it blends everything together very nicely. No chunks no leaking no mess and even blends the ice in nicely.

Don't bother with other shakers.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

79 of 82 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Best Protein Shake Maker Around, July 13, 2008 Like the prior reviewer, I have tried in frustration to use the cheap, freebie mixers from supplement orders. All suffered from two problems; leaks (protein shake on your gym shirts/shorts - Arrgh.) and poor mixing of whey protein and other powders.
This shaker bottle has a tight fitting screw on lid, and a securely closing pop-open top that have never leaked, not once.

I thought that the stainless steel "blender ball" seemed like a gimmick but it WORKS GREAT, mixing even hard-to-mix supps like BCAAs well. Whey powder, Gatorade powder and such are a breeze. Just make sure you have an ounce or two of liquid on the bottom before adding powder and you're set.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

38 of 40 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly, August 26, 2009 This product does exactly what it's supposed to do, blends powders for drinks. I've used several other protein shakers in the past, most specifically the Bodytech - Bodytech Shaker Bottle, 1 piece and I always have drinks that come out not completely mixed. It's pretty disgusting to be drinking a protein shake and take a bit out of a big clump of unblended whey powder. I can vigorously shake one of those shakers for 20 minutes and not get results as effective as 10 seconds with the Blenderbottle. It doesn't even require much effort, since the blenderball does most of the work (rather than your arm). The lid on the top fits very snugly. Unlike other shakers where I have to hold down the lid to prevent it from opening up while I'm shaking it and spraying my drink everywhere, the lid on the Blenderbottle is very secure. For the first few days I covered it up with my hand while I blended, because I was afraid it would open up, but finally realized that it wasn't going anywhere. The bottle is very easy to clean, and I usually just rinse off the wire blenderball with water.
My only problem with the bottle, is that the measurement markings are clear (same color as bottle). It would be nice if they were an offset color so I could quickly read a measurement without having to hold the bottle up 2 inches from my face. But other than that, I couldn't ask for a better product.
Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
